I am Ram and this blog is about:

  • my ISB and post-ISB life, and
  • Indian Classical Music – primarily Carnatic music, which I passionately pursue along with my professional career

Prospective ISB applicants and other visitors can get to know a bit more about Life@ISB from the posts made under the category “ISB”. Much of the content should be relevant even today, though its been ages since I graduated from ISB.

Most of the posts on Carnatic music are either about lecture demonstrations or about Carnatic Music concerts I attend or perform. The posts on Carnatic music concerts contain song lists and some details of what I enjoyed in such concerts. They are not written with an intention of reviewing the concerts.

I am a performing Carnatic musician. I play the mrudangam and my gurus are Shri T.R. Dhandapany and Padma Vibhushan Sangeeta Kalanidhi Dr. Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

    Dear Ram:

I stumbled on your blog site while looking for today’s concerts. Hope to see/meet you in person on Sunday (14/10/2012) at the mini hall. I have had a very positive experience at the mini hall — the youngsters’ performances are wonderful.

    Dear Ram:

I attended the concertand enjoyed it because I knew some of the ragas. I enjoyed your Thani as well. I could not wait longer after the end. Sure to meet you soon.

Nice to know that you are “well employed” in music while earning a good position in a “regular” career. Wish there were more people like you who will not let their talent get submerged in the daily grind of life. Best wishes to you. May your tribe increase.
