If there is one thing that would make me remember this concert at least for some time to come, it would be the beautiful rItigowla rAga Alapana. Detailed Alapana was also done for tOdi. The places in the rAga Alapana where OST held his breath to sing a set of notes continuously, as he usually does, were especially enjoyable. Sri S. Karthick on the ghatam was simply awesome and was the perfect match for mridangam maestro Sri Raja Rao.

  1. Ram says:

    The song is attributed to both ragas by different texts. I think sindhu kannada is S M1 G3 M1 R2 G3 M1 P D2 P S; S N2 D2 P M1 G3 R2 S while kEsari is S R2 G3 M1 P M1 D1 P D1 S; S D1 N2 D1 P M1 G3 R2 S. Going by this and by what OST sang, it sounded closer to kEsari. I have heard another version where the starting of the song is exactly similar to the ArohaNA of sindhu kannada.
